When The CW first announced that it was going to be developing and releasing a new TV series based on the beloved Archie comics, it’s unlikely fans expected it to turn out as it has. Described previously as “Archie meets Twin Peaks” the first trailers and images for Riverdale, named after the hometown of its central characters, have all teased it as being a much darker, stranger, and more mature adaptation than the comics themselves might initially inspire....

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are working on a new comic book adaptation in the form of Invincible, based on Robert Kirkman’s comic series. Rogen and Goldberg made their big screen directorial debut together with the apocalyptic comedy This is the End and will be teaming with The Walking Dead creator Kirkman (as well as Universal Pictures) next - for a project that’s about an invincible superhero and not the apocalypse, zombie or otherwise....

Midway was a passion project decades in the making for acclaimed filmmaker Roland Emmerich. The film about the decisive World War II naval battle took a long time to make the journey from page to screen, but the heavy-hitting cast was proof of Lionsgate’s faith in it – as well as the director’s love for the story as well. With the DVD and Blu-ray out this week, Emmerich took the time to chat with Screen Rant about his inspiration and research for Midway....

Ron Johnson, the CEO of J.C. Penney and the former senior vice president for retail at Apple, ran a guest post detailing his Apple tenure over at the Harward Business Review blog, accompanying a monster interview which appears in the December 2011 issue of the Harvard Business Review magazine. Apple doesn’t owe its success in retail to shiny products, he said. “You don’t need to stock iPads to create an irresistible retail environment”, he said....

A rough date has been set for round five of the battle over Samsung’s infringements of Apple patents in five of its products. The Recorder reports that U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh has said that the revised damages will be determined by a jury trial in March or April 2016. In case you need a refresher, the story so far is this. In round 1, the first jury trial, Apple was awarded $1B in damages....

Prior to the official announcement of the Apple Watch, there were multiple rumors that the device would be packed with health-related sensors. When it finally launched, however, it got just a heart-rate monitor – albeit a sophisticated one. A teardown revealed that there’s also a pulse oximeter in there, to measure oxygen saturation in your blood, but Apple hasn’t yet activated that functionality. The apparent turnabout on sensors was explained by Tim Cook, who last year told the Telegraph that Apple wanted to avoid the need for FDA approval as a regulated health product as that would slow innovation....

The 12.9″ iPad Pro is a great productivity device, but unfortunately it ships with an inadequate 12W power adapter. This is the same charger commonly used with the smaller 9.7″ iPad line, and it’s much inadequate for a device as large and as power hungry as the 12.9″ iPad Pro. I find that when using the iPad Pro at full brightness, it’s difficult to maintain your current charge, let alone gain battery life, when using the 12W charger....

A rumor suggests that Kylo Ren’s line revealing Rey is a Palpatine in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was a last-minute addition, but that can’t actually be the case. Directed by J.J. Abrams, who co-wrote the script alongside Chris Terrio (Batman v Superman), The Rise of Skywalker was a divisive end to the Skywalker saga. Abrams’ movie made a lot of big swings, including bringing back Emperor Palpatine, redeeming and killing Ben Solo, and ending with Rey taking on the name Skywalker....
