Last month we shared a roundup of everything we expect from Apple’s rumored spring event for iPhones, iPads, and Macs. Apple World Today now speculates one possibility for when and where Apple might hold its rumored spring event. Apple has held a spring event in March for the past few years although the specific date has slipped back each year. It was around this time last year that we officially learned Apple would hold its March 21st event for the iPhone SE and smaller iPad Pro, but Apple’s spring event isn’t a sure thing yet this year....

Last week, a rumor suggested that a future MacBook Air could be available in an array of colors similar to the new M1 iMac. Now, more details about the next MacBook Air’s design have potentially emerged, and they hint at a handful of notable changes. In a new video posted to his YouTube channel today, leaker Jon Prosser says that he obtained images of a redesigned MacBook in new colors. He explains that it’s not explicitly clear whether this is the MacBook Air or perhaps an adjective-less “MacBook,” but the lack of ports indicates it’s likely not a MacBook Pro....

Many shows that lean on depth and intricate narratives often have their version of a “comic relief” character. Someone has made a ‘Hot Coffee’ mod for Red Dead Redemption 2, and Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar would like it removed. At a glance, this situation mirrors the one which took place in 2004 during Rockstar’s original ‘Hot Coffee’ controversy, in which the company was accused of trying to slip X-rated content into their then-new game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The ‘Hot Coffee’ fiasco was surely an annoyance to Rockstar, who had previously decided not to include the content in the game on the grounds that it would probably offend the very people it ended up irritating the most....

The MacBook Pro lacks many traditional external connection options, such as an SD Card reader or an HDMI port. In the place of all of those legacy ports resides two or more USB-C ports. USB-C is an uber-versatile form factor that will ultimately offer tons of flexibility in the future when it comes to external connections, but at this early stage in the game, the pickings are somewhat slim. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will finally be available to the public this Friday, September 19th, but early reviews of the two new devices have gone live this evening from several publications. The iPhone 6 is the biggest iPhone yet, coming in with a 4.7-inch display, while the iPhone 6 Plus packs an even larger 5.5-inch panel. Both of the models feature “Retina HD” displays. The internals of the devices have also been upgraded to include a new second generation 64-bit A8 chip that Apple claims is 25% faster CPU-wise than ever before and 50% faster graphically....

Guy Ritchie’s directing career has been anything but dull, and he burst onto the scene with 1998’s Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels, which also introduced the world to Jason Statham. Ritchie followed up with cult crime comedy Snatch, which was another guns and geezers romp that featured Brad Pitt and Benicio del Toro. Ritchie’s career would hit some turbulence with his two follow-ups Swept Away and Revolver, though, which both suffered horrid reviews and bombed....

There have been a lot of rumors about a 14.1-inch MacBook Pro, and many expected it to appear in the spring when the 13-inch was due for an update. But the 2020 MacBook Pro is now on sale, and it featured no larger screen nor any design changes to speak of. One Twitter leaker says to expect the 14-inch to appear next year. The @L0vetodream account has been on a bit of a tear with leaks and rumors in the last few months....

The original report from Chinese website ITHome claims that the leaked image was obtained by the jailbreak community. The “Enable Voice Call Recording” option is presented with a huge disclaimer about related applicable laws in jurisdiction, so the user should use it responsibly. We’ve heard from Apple engineers that the feature has been present in iOS internal builds and it’s only intended for debugging purposes. I like to keep a clean desk. That’s helped enormously by being paperless, but another key is what I refer to as my OCDesk: a custom-built desk with a rear undershelf to hold all the power-strips, power bricks, external drives and so on. That keeps all the mess out of sight. (I’ve since had a new one created, but I’ll get to that in a future Smart Home Diary.)
