Months after the Rockstar Games labor controversy that shocked the video game world, the British-based Rockstar Lincoln is apparently converting its contractors to full-time employees in order to address some of the issues pertaining to crunch culture that have developed in-house. Last October, a report about development across several different Rockstar studios highlighted Lincoln as one of the most difficult places to be employed, with several confirmations suggesting mandatory overtime that took place over the span of an entire year....

A new mock-up of the 5.5-inch 2021 iPhone has been shared by Macotakara today that suggests a notchless screen and USB-C instead of a Lightning port (or nor port at all) could be in the works. The prototype also shows what could be a different camera setup compared to what we’re expecting on the iPhone 12 later this year. At the end of last year, we learned that Ming-Chi Kuo expects the highest-end 2021 iPhone to be a fully wireless device, ditching the Lightning port and also skipping the USB-C port....

Released back in May, Dexter Fletcher’s Elton John biopic was a critical success that earned praise for Taron Egerton’s lead performance (which included doing his own singing) and the way that it deviates from the typical musician biography by exploring John’s life through a jukebox musical composed of his own songs. In fact, Egerton’s turn was so widely celebrated that some expect him to be a contender in the approaching Best Actor Oscar race....

Rocko’s Modern Life is known for its satirical social commentary, but it took it one step further with the special Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling movie by actually mocking itself. Nickelodeon’s cartoons back in the 1990s got away with a lot of not-so-subtle adult jokes and themes that made them popular not only among children but grown-ups as well. In the current era of reboots, Nickelodeon is reviving some of these old properties, including Joe Murray’s Rocko’s Modern Life, which got a TV special/movie distributed by Netflix....

Three years ago, Apple released the original Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader, a larger, faster, and more expensive version of a Camera Connection Kit component it had previously developed for Dock Connector iPads. When I tested it back in 2012, I noted that the reader was working 3 times faster than its predecessor when used with the then-current iPad (4th-Gen), and 50% faster with the original iPad mini. Since then, iPads have only gotten faster, while the Reader has stayed unchanged....

I’ve tested lots of iPhone battery cases since 2007, and quite a few great iPhone 6 battery cases over the past year. It’s extremely rare to find a battery case with integrated wall plugs that recharge both the battery and iPhone, but a company named Prong is now on its second-generation version of exactly that product. Prong’s first iPhone cases had no batteries, but included wall plugs so you could recharge wherever you found a standard wall outlet....
