The delayed BeatsX earbuds go on sale tomorrow on Apple.com and in retail stores after a lengthy delay. Ahead of the release to the public, a trio of YouTube reviewers got their hands on the W1-equipped headphones from Apple and Beats. The videos offer a first-look at BeatsX and compare them Apple’s own AirPods. UrAvgConsumer went hands-on with the BeatsX and detailed the unboxing process. Included in the box are the earbuds, a travel case, earths, wingtips for secure fit, and a Lightning cable for charging....

For the average moviegoer, the distinction between a Marvel Studios film (like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) and a movie featuring Marvel character’s (like Deadpool) may be a bit confusing. At first glance, a TV series based on the Archie comic series doesn’t seem like it would be totally heartbreaking. These popular (and adorable) stories follow the lives of Archie Andrews and his friends Veronica Lodge and Betty Cooper. Of course, there’s drama because both girls are in love with him, but the tone is light and funny. Apple has reportedly informed service providers that it has some sort of “AppleCare-related changes” planned for next Tuesday, December 8. It’s not explicitly clear what this could mean, but history suggests it could relate to some sort of new hardware announcement — or nothing at all. MacRumors has obtained an internal memo from a “reliable source” detailing that service provider technicians should “prepare for new product SKUs, new/updated product descriptions, and new/updated product pricing....

One of my complaints about HomeKit devices is that too many of them look like what father-of-the-iPod Tony Fadell once described as ‘ugly white plastic crap.’ My Philips Hue switches and motion sensors, for example, work well, but they are undoubtedly both white and plastic – and while I wouldn’t go so far as to call them ugly, they are certainly not beautiful. Uber competitor Lyft is adding a new level of convenience to catching a ride from an app on your iPhone. Starting today, Lyft is testing scheduled pickup times so you can arrange a car to pick you up before the moment you need it. Passengers will be able to set pickup times up to 24 hours ahead of time from the Lyft app. Scheduling a ride in advance will be a benefit for anyone planning a schedule ahead of time, but the feature could also reduce situations where nearby drivers aren’t as readily available and minimize waiting times....

Riverdale has once again managed to do a crossover with Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, suggesting the two Archie series are connected. A couple of readers have asked me about the super slim wood case I’ve had on my iPhone in photos accompanying recent reviews. Spider-Man may have recently joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that doesn’t mean Sony is done with their own spinoffs to the character. In addition to ongoing plans to develop a Venom movie, Sony is actively involved in bringing an animated Spider-Man to the big screen late next year. Ongoing rumors seem to point to this project starring the Miles Morales iteration of the character, which would certainly differentiate it from the Tom Holland’s current live action Peter Parker....
