Sonos announced its first portable speaker with Bluetooth, the Sonos Move, earlier this month and opened up preorders, with the product shipping out to customers on September 24. I was able to test out the Sonos Move over the last week and have been really impressed with everything from the speaker’s design and functionality to automatic Trueplay equalizer and sound quality. The CW’s newest series Roswell, New Mexico is finally underway! For those of you who don’t know, the show is a reboot of the 1999-2006 series Roswell and, along with its counterpart, an adaptation of the Roswell High novels by Melinda Metz. Though diehard fans have welcomed the return of their favorite sci-fi, the show’s creator Carina Adly Mackenzie has updated the storyline and characters, lending the series a more ‘adult’ tone and some unpredictability....

According to the ever-questionable Digitimes, Apple is partnering with Valve on an AR headset product that would launch in the second half of 2020. Digitimes says Quanta and Pegatron will be part of the AR headset’s production chain. Digitimes describes the AR headset as a “head-mounted display device”. It has been rumored for a while that Apple is working on some kind of AR glasses/headset project as its ‘next big thing’....

In a sketchy report published on several Chinese media sites yesterday, including Mashdigi, Apple is purportedly considering to make a new iPhone model for the Chinese market, as it faces stiff price competition from domestic manufacturers like Oppo and Huawei. Interestingly, the report pinpoints the Face ID sensor as a key area for cost-cutting. Instead, Apple would supposedly add back Touch ID to its flagship iPhone lines, either on the back of the phone or as an under-screen sensor....

Robert Pattinson has revealed that he’s already settled on a signature voice for his role in The Batman. The character recently appeared in a total of three live-action, big-screen outings - most prominently Batman v Superman and Justice League. I don’t understand why Apple doesn’t sell a premium dock for iOS devices. There’s such an attention to detail when it comes to product design at Apple, yet they continue to sell a dinky plastic dock for select devices. Eventually, pocket-sized cameras will compare in low-light performance to today’s large and expensive DSLRs. Although pro photographers will have moved on by then to even more powerful large cameras, the vast majority of people will see no need to carry big, heavy lenses and camera bodies around. The iPhone’s ascendance demonstrates that “eventually” is at least foreseeable, even though it’s not happening in the near term. Serious photographers won’t be giving up their DSLRs any time soon, and in fact will be toting plenty of camera hardware — many times, along with a laptop — to any event or destination important enough to photograph properly....
