When Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle decide to speak, they will likely bring in a fat paycheck of around $1 million. The couple may need that payday sooner than they thought, thanks to the tight stipulations on the financial agreement that his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, agreed to.

Since Prince Harry and Markle’s announcement on January 8th, the prince has been taking each day in stride. The royals held an emergency meeting and the Queen finalized his financial dealings with his grandmother. Even though Meghan Markle has been getting much of the negativity regarding their stepping down, Prince Harry seems to be happy to be along for the ride, embracing his new, commoner life. After a rough start to the New Year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided that it would be best for them to split their time between the United Kingdom and Canada, where they spent their Christmas alone with their son, Archie.

According to TMZ Prince, Harry and Markle have had some job bites that will help them become self-sufficient much more quickly then they thought. The couple is already expected to pay back the English taxpayers for the 2.4 million pounds they borrowed to renovate their home. According to an expert, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could easily earn around $500,000 each for speaking engagement.

Most celebrities who are on the Hollywood A-list could easily earn around $200,000 to $300,000 from each speaking engagement, but the royal couple who are in high demand could easily earn double the amount from non-profit and volunteer-based organizations. According to the source, if Archie’s parents ever decided to write a book together the couple could earn $8 to $10 million on royalties. The source said that if Prince Harry and Markle wanted to go down the route of writing a tell-all memoir, that there could easily be a bidding war with the publisher winning all the sorted details behind their reasons for leaving the royal family. Their story closely resembled that of Prince Harry’s great-uncle, Edward VIII, but instead of being totally shunned by the royal family, Prince Harry was allowed to step back with the blessing of his grandmother.

While the couple would make millions off of royal biography, there has been no news from the couple themselves. Most believe if they were given a huge check that they would donate it to a worthy cause, but others wonder if they would need to keep it since they no longer receive a paycheck from Prince Charles. If the couple does not like the idea of a book deal, they could always settle for a joint speaking appearance where they would have a Q & A where they could give royal watchers insight on their situation before exiting the royal family and their plans for the future.
